My Hair Regimen

I have gotten to be so lazy about this L

I used to wash my hair like 2 or 3 times a week when it was shorter but now it’s about every 2-4 weeks. I know…I know… sad

Well here it is…..
I section my hair off into 4 sections and I plait those to keep my hair from getting tangled during the shampoo process. This makes it SOOO much easier for me!

Co Wash – I just take a bit of conditioner and smooth it over my hair from root to tip and let it sit for a few minutes because I have probably let my hair get so dry it needs it before I shampoo or it will tangle something awful!

Shampoo with Shea Moisture Black Soap or Moisture Retention- focusing on my scalp mostly section by section

Detangle with HE Hello Hydration- the only thing I have found that provides enough slip to get through my hair and keeps me from spending 30 minutes trying to detangle AND its budget friendly so I can use ridiculous handfuls and not feel bad.

Leave In (Giovanni Direct Leave In and a little Smooth as Silk Conditioner with Jojoba, Castor oil and Aloe Vera juice) - I will usually detangle my hair again with the leave in applied and then section my hair off in big 2 strand twists

Sit under the steamer for about 30 minutes with hair in twists- this is really great for my extra dry, super thick hair it helps to seal in the moisture and refreshes my scalp!

I allow my hair to air dry in twists until about 60% dry then I set in about 7-9 plaits with a little Aloe Vera gel for a braidout.  This keeps my hair from shrinking so much.
I will normally try to stretch this style for 2 weeks (at least) by moisturizing and rebraiding nightly if I need to. Hairstyles always seem to get better (bigger) as they get older anyway! J
